Many of Florida’s visitors enjoy vacationing with their four legged family members, so we often get asked about the area’s best dog-friendly beach parks. Here are four our favorite off leash dog-friendly beach parks.
Located on the outside edge of Lover’s Key State Park, Dog Beach is a strip of beach along the Fort Myers/Bonita Springs line. It’s an off-leash beach to let your dog run free along the shallow Gulf waters. There are no fences, no leashes and plenty of dogs of all sizes to play with. In fact, many travelers visit Bonita Beach Dog Park just to watching them run and play along the water.
The park isn’t visible from the main road so follow signs around the trees to Dog Beach. Just a little warning, during high tide you may have to wade through a little water. There is a portable toilet, and no running water so remember to bring some for your pet.
