The State of Florida is known for the endless number of outstanding golf courses and Venice, Florida is no exception to the rules. The semi-private golf course community of Capri Isles is ranked #2 in the southwestern region in the “play Florida” official guidebook for golf resources. Capri Isles spent the last year renovating their course to earn this title, and it was well worth the effort. If you love golf, or even just like spending a day on the course with friends, don’t leave Venice without enjoying a round of golf at Capri Isles.

Located a few blocks from the beach, with Blackburn Canal running through the course, beware that this golf course is a challenging 18-hole course with a lot of water in play. Capri Isles is a 72-par course, enjoyable for a range of golfers and offers different challenges for everyone. Remember that no metal spikes are allowed on the newly refurbished greens and that proper golf attire is required.

Although the Capri Isles golf club is considered semi-private it is always open to the public, 7 days a week, pending reservations made ahead of time. This golf course is always busy, no matter what time of year you call, so it is best to make reservations at least a few days in advance. Costs for the course vary significantly from  $18-$50 depending on the time of year. You can also buy a “ten play card” that will save you money if you plan on coming back to Capri Isles a few times during your stay in Venice. The golf club also extends a 25% discount to anyone who can present a valid Florida drivers license.

There is a small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch throughout the week and on the weekends from 7:30-3 pm. The golf course is open from 7am-6pm Monday through Sunday.

The easiest way to get to Capri Isles is to take Venice Ave E, away from Venice Beach. Take a left onto Capri Isle Blvd and you will run right into the golf course, but beware there are a few other golf courses in the area, so be sure you have arrived at the right one.
